The family of Betty Alzbeta "Betka" Holis is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 born on April 5th, 1944 in Lehnice, Czechoslovakia now Slovakia. Betty immigrated to the US in February 1970 with her husband and son, was naturalized as a US citizen in 1979, and has been a resident of Westchester for fifty-one years. She lived a full and remarkable life and touched the hearts of everyone she met through her restaurant that she co-owned for twelve years, The Bohemian Crown, in River Forest. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Vladimir; her son, Lou; her daughter, Lisa; her grandchildren Matthew, Jeremy, Vaughn, Brooke, and Addison; her great-grandchildren; and many cherished friends. A celebration of life will be held at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester, IL on Wednesday, April 22nd from 3 to 8 pm.
