Betty Ann Tatooles, nee Markos, of Lincolnwood, IL passed away peacefully Friday, August 2, 2024 in the loving care of her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Anton and Penelope (nee Petropulos) Markos. Born October 21, 1937, in Chicago, IL, she graduated from North Park Academy and then earned a B.S. in Education from Northwestern University, Evanston in 1959. She married the late Constantine Tatooles, M.D. in 1960. Betty proceeded to be a schoolteacher, devoted mother, homemaker and extensive traveler with her family having resided in Bethesda, MD, London, England, Palm Beach and Naples, Florida. Betty is survived by her children Julie (Dr. John) Anastos, Dr. Antone "Tony" (Laura) Tatooles and Jon (Harriet) Tatooles, her grandchildren Elizabeth (Ethan) Holmes, Connor (Dr. Candice Hwang) Tatooles, Keaton (fiancée Emily Maxwell) Tatooles, Todd Anastos, Dennis Anastos, Jonathan Anastos, Anne Tatooles, Kevin Tatooles, Julia Tatooles and William Tatooles, her brother Dennis (Carol) Markos, and brother-in-law James (Didi) Tatooles. Fond aunt and cousin of many. Visitation Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 W. Winona St., Chicago from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
