Carolyn B. Schmalz (nee Braam), age 67, of Willowbrook, Il. Beloved wife of Frank P. Schmalz. Loving mother of Beth A. Schleicher, Tina M. (Chris) Richards, Melanie R. Schmalz (Conner Demoray), proud grandmother of Theodore P. Demoray. Devoted daughter of the late Arlene G. (William) Henze (nee Kuthan) and the late John Braam. Dear sister of Steven (Cassandra) Braam, Barbara (John) Mendez, Janet Braam Kompare (James Nash) and Eileen (Michael) Gambil. Adoring aunt of many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly!

Carolyn had an amazing personality and loved reading, writing, exercise and spending time with her family. She loved the ocean and visiting St. Pete Beach, Florida. Carolyn adored her dog Comet for many years and always mentioned that she could not wait to be reunited with him in heaven.

A Celebration of Life visitation and service will be held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Conboy- Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Road Westchester, Il., followed by a friends & family reception at 6:00 pm at Mattone Restaurant, 9 East 31st Street, LaGrange Park, Il. Food will be served and a cash bar available.
