Constance "Connie"
Ann Murphy
Dec 26, 1965 — Apr 13, 2026
Palm Desert, CA formerly of Chicago
Constance "Connie" Ann Murphy, of Palm Desert, CA, formerly of Chicago, IL, age 60. Cherished wife of Larry Doody for 34 years and loving "momma" of Riley Doody. Adored sister of Morgan F. Murphy III, and Michelle (Dan Hebert) Murphy. Dear sister-in-law of the late Honorable Lisa Ruble Murphy, Elizabeth "Liz" (Gerry) Gorman, Daniel Doody, and Debbie (Dennis) Furlong. Rockstar aunt to Morgan (Kristen Koonce) Murphy IV, Brendan Murphy, Conor Gorman, Liam Gorman, Shane Gorman, Brendan Furlong, Matthew Furlong, Denny Furlong, Brieanne Rogus and Brendan (Caroline) Hebert and much-loved great aunt to Nora Murphy. Beloved daughter of the late Morgan F. Murphy, Jr. and Charlene Diane nee Jurgensen. Cherished daughter-in-law of Carolyn and the late Lawrence Doody.
Connie will be remembered for her devotion to her family, especially Larry and Riley, and her kindness to others. When Connie walked into a room it instantly brightened from her spirit, and she made lasting friendships everywhere she went. Connie was raised to believe that we should help the less fortunate, thereby leading her to a career at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. Connie began her service there working on grants and culminating in her position of Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations and the Mercy Foundation. Connie helped to create one of the largest Dinner Dances for a safety net hospital, all while creating marketing campaigns and dealing with the press with ease and then coming home to whip up dinner for her "boys". She was never too busy to help anyone, and she assisted other charities over the years in their fundraising efforts.
In her "retirement" years, Connie suffered from severe health issues, but you would never know it because she always had a smile on her face. She loved to golf with Larry, spend time with Riley and his boys, shopping with her gals and chatting with her many friends over a glass of Oyster Bay. Connie will be greatly missed by all she touched.
