Obituary

Constance Skalkos, 97, of Carol Stream, IL died peacefully at home on March 1st, 2024. Born in Chicago on February 9, 1927 to Greek immigrants, she was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Zoe (nee Vasilakos) Skalkos, sister Christine (Joe Diliberto) and brother Thomas Skalkos. Survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyne, nieces and nephews, Nat Diliberto (Patty), Zoe (Randy Adamson), Zoe Ann (the late Peter Tomaras), Nancy (the late Joe Sadowski), Joseph Diliberto (Kelly), Andrew Skalkos (Mary Lou Mulvihill) and many great-nieces and nephews.

Connie grew up on Chicago's west side and attended Marshall High School. She was "married" to Illinois Bell where she worked as a telephone operator for over 35 years. She was a unique, one-of-a-kind individual whose one-liners, distinctive fashions, and outlandish hair-dos will be missed by all.
