Dr. Danute S. Juras of Westchester, age 95.  Beloved daughter of the late Stasys and Jadvyga Juras, loving cousin of Aldona Griksiene, Birute Serksmiene of Lithuania, Mary Cieslak and sons Christopher, Scott Cieslak, IL, Cousin James Feit, CA.  Born in Palanga, Lithuania and immigrated to the US when she was 21 years old with her parents arriving on Ellis Island, New York.  Her first job was working as a nanny and teaching herself the English language. She furthered her education earning a PHD in Biology / Immunology and became a biology professor at De Paul University in Chicago teaching there for 30 years.  She loved to travel the world visiting 26 different countries and shared stories of each one of them whenever you asked her.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy's Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am proceeding to Divine Providence Church for an 11:00 am Funeral Mass.  Interment St. Casimir Cemetery, Chicago.
