David J. Purton, born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, age 83. Dear brother of Coral (Michael) Poustie, Christopher (Linda) Purton and the late Denis (Muriel) Purton; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews; Loving father of Caroline (Timothy) Miller; proud grandfather of Catherine "Cate," John "Jack" and Regan; dear friend of Mary Balint. Loyal friend of Nick (Maureen) Alfafara family, and members of the "Super Six" family at SPC (Mary Huebner, Patt Rutherford, Ed Deles, Sister Lea Cozzini, Dave and Nick).  David obtained his Master's degree in English from DePaul University and was a devoted scholar of Shakespearean literature. He was a longtime educator at St. Joseph High School in Westchester and at St. Peter Canisius School in Chicago.  David loved playing soccer from his youth through adulthood and was a winning soccer coach at St. Joseph High School.  All to meet for a Visitation on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Divine Providence Church, 2550 Mayfair, Westchester from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass 10:00 a.m. (the visitation and mass will be livestreamed at https://www.memorialslive.com/purton ).
