David G. Sewall of La Grange, 71, passed peacefully at home December 9, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Mary nee Kelly; Loving stepfather of Wes Hankins.  Preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary Ann (nee Winkler) Sewall. Dear brother of Marilu Gill, Liz Kwit, Dan (Joan) Sewall and Luke (Holly) Sewall.  Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews; Fond cousin and sincere friend of many; Dedicated companion to numerous four-legged friends.

Dave's career was one of service. He retired after 20 years as a proud member of the Marines and Army. After receiving a degree in Forestry from Northern Arizona University, he was a wildland fire fighter for the State of Arizona.  Dave lived an active lifestyle and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed camping, swimming, kayaking, hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing.  His greatest joy was sharing these activities and spending time with family and friends.  After retiring, he dedicated many hours volunteering for Hines VA Hospital in the prosthetics dept. and the "No Vet Dies Alone" program.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester (2 blks West of Mannheim Rd.) on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 3 pm to 7 pm.  All to meet Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Barbara Church, 4000 Prairie Ave., Brookfield for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
