Demitri "Mitch" Demitropoulos, 72, of Arlington Heights, IL, died on November 23, 2023, after a brief but unexpected illness. Mitch passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Husband of Timi Demitropoulos, nee Pitsis; father of Nicholas G. (Tracy) Demitropoulos and Deanne (TJ) Chiganos; grandfather of six (of the world's best) grandchildren: Belen Demitropoulos, Luca Demitropoulos, Christopher Chiganos, Eloise Demitropoulos, Tula Chiganos and Theo Chiganos; son of the late George V. and Nicolette (nee Sallas); son-in-law of Tula and the late James Pitsis; preceded in death by his brothers Bill G. (Rosalie) and John A. (Elena) Demitropoulos. Mitch (Mr. Mitch, The Hero, Mayor Mitch, Mitso, Michaco, Pouli, Pops, Poo), a man of many names but a single purpose, lived his life solely for his family and friends. He was humble and soft-spoken, yet fiercely loyal and unconditionally supportive. If you need to find him, start by checking the local fishing pier…the one next to a baseball field with bouzouki music playing. He'll be there checking his stocks, munching on a souflaki, planning his next project and boasting about his grandchildren.
