Don Sherlock of Cicero, age 76. U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Beloved husband of Therese/Betty, nee Lechtenberg; loving father of Jennifer (Erik) Johnson, Mary (Tyler) Vogel and Dave Sherlock; proud grandfather of Penny, Charlie, Elliott and Kate; dear brother of Sr. Therese Sherlock, Karen (late Rolf) Middleton, the late Maureen (late George) Recker, late Bob (Bev) Sherlock and the late David Sherlock; cherished brother-in-law of Sr. Mary Lechtenberg, Bob (Barbara) Lechtenberg, Donna (late Phil) Kavanaugh and Dori (Tom) Healy; fond uncle of many. Don and Therese/Betty were married on June 2, 1973. Don worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for almost 40 years where he found particular fulfillment assisting POWs and their families. He was an active member of the St. Frances of Rome parish and school where he was a eucharistic minister and served on the School Board. He was a loyal Cubs fan who enjoyed doing puzzles, eating sweets, reading and spending time with his family. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Monday 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Frances of Rome Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass.
