Elisa Olga Grillo, nee Mattioli, of Wilmette, age 92. Beloved wife of the late Michael Anthony Grillo (1976); loving mother of Gina Joy Grillo, Maria Lisa Grillo and Robert Alan Grillo; proud grandmother of Wilhelmina Grillo Kratz and Winifred Grillo Kratz; cherished daughter of the late Olga and Diamonte Mattioli; sister of Sr. Yvonne Mattioli, the late Rosetta Prus, Angela Vece, and Dave Mattioli; darling aunt and dear friend of many.

Devoted sister, loyal friend, mother extraordinaire, Elisa was open-hearted and street-smart with a certain down-to-earth elegance. She was a creative thinker—a gifted cook, dancer, interior decorator, gardener, and homemaker. Her zest for life and youthful sense of humor made her both wise and resilient. She loved people and they loved her back. She took great pride in her longtime position as front desk manager for the Kohl Children's Museum and as the "Mayor of Skokie Court," the townhouse development in which she lived since 1981. Even after the loss of her father at age 21 and her husband at age 44, when she reflected on her life, she recalled it as beautiful.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Service at 11:30 a.m. followed by Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside.
