Ernest Cochanis, 93, of Glencoe, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Christine; his daughters, Alexis Williams, Melissa Cochanis and Chryssi (Cameron) Full; and his grandchildren, Vanessa Boulter, Penelope Full and Logan, Presley and Charlie Schenk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chryssi and Alex Cochanis.

As a long-time McDonald's franchisee and a lifelong Cubs' fan, Ernie was proud to own the Wrigley Field restaurant and could often be found working the parking lot on game days. Ernie enjoyed spending weekends in Lake Geneva where he and his boat, Koukla Moo, were well known. Ernie loved Bombay Sapphire gin with blue cheese stuffed olives, a fine cigar and the company of good friends. His favorite saying was, "We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time." In his 93 years, he achieved both.

Visitation Tuesday January 27, 2026 at 10:00am at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL 60025. Funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Private interment.
