Eugene J. "Gene" Belmonte II, age 80, passed away on April 2, leaving behind a legacy of service, community, and deep devotion to family. A beloved husband to Victoria, nee Benigno, for 57 years, proud father to Mark (Sarah) and Eugene III "EJ" (Stacey), and cherished grandfather to Reese and Eugene IV. Gene's life was defined by the love he gave and the lives he touched.

For more than 50 years, Gene dedicated himself to coaching baseball, shaping generations of young athletes with not only skill and discipline, but also integrity and heart. His impact extended beyond the field and into the fabric of his community. He served as a Village Trustee for Westchester and as a member of the Westchester School Board, always advocating for the betterment of local families and education. Gene was also a proud owner of The Westchester News, where his commitment to keeping the community informed reflected his deep connection to the town he loved. A graduate of St. Mary's College of Winona, MN; he carried the values of education and service throughout his life.

Beyond his many accomplishments, Gene will be remembered for his vibrant spirit. He was an avid singer and performer, bringing joy to those around him with his voice, energy, and passion for entertaining.
Gene's legacy lives on in his family, his community, and the countless lives he influenced over the years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
