George L. Kucharchuk, age 91, of Crest Hill, former longtime resident of Lyons. Decorated US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (nee Frank) Kucharchuk.  Loving father of Kristine Kucharchuk and Jeffrey Kucharchuk. Devoted son of the late Andrew and Josephine (nee Derklewicz) Kucharchuk.  Proud grandfather of Michael (Emily) Johnstone and Scott Johnstone. Great grandfather of RJ and Justin. Dear brother of the late Raymond (the late Helen) Kucharchuk and the late Gloria (the late Mike) Turlek. George was a former Trustee for the Village of Lyons during the 1960's thru the 1980's and the former Building Commissioner for the Village of Lyons and the Village of Willow Springs. George enjoyed his memberships in the Lyons Mustangs Athletic Club, the Emil Schieve American Legion Post #699 as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars. George enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. Family and friends will be received at Ivins-Moravecek Funeral Home 80 E. Burlington Street, Riverside on Wednesday October 18, 2023, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Thursday 9:30am from the funeral home to St. Mary Church, 105 Herrick Road in Riverside for a Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL at 1:30pm. (All are asked to meet at the cemetery Visitors Center no later than 1:15pm.)
