George F. Mannella, 78, of Westchester, IL, formerly of Elmwood Park, IL, died suddenly in his home on November 13, 2023. George was born on June 4, 1945 and was the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Motissi) Mannella.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marge (Swan) Mannella and his sons, Vince (Michele) Mannella and George (Lisa) Mannella. He was the adored Papa and loved by his three grandchildren; Katie, Nicholas and Danny Mannella. George loved his family more than anything. George was also the fond uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.

George cut hair as a barber in his younger days, he was a butcher for 25 years for Dominick's, and a groundskeeper for Elmwood Park High School for 10 years. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoyed watching and cheering on the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and the Blackhawks.

In his younger days, George was an avid softball player, playing at many of the Chicago parks with his dad and sons. His greatest joy was coaching his own sons in baseball when they were younger and watching his grandchildren play baseball, hockey and soccer.

George was a "One of a Kind" human being and could tell a story like no other. You could not help but to laugh and smile when around him. Although George's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on in the stories his family and friends share about him.
