It is with deep sadness that we announce that Georgia Psichogios, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024. Georgia was a beloved daughter and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Gus Psichogios, and her mother, Helen Psichogios (née Gevas). Georgia's life was marked by her passion for service, her dedication to preserving Hellenic culture, and her deep commitment to her faith. She was actively involved with the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where she devoted much of her time and energy. Additionally, in her philanthropic work, Georgia proudly served as the Grand President of the Daughters of Penelope, an organization devoted to promoting education, philanthropy, and civic responsibility within the Greek-American community. She also held the position of President of the Assumption Women's Club. In addition to aunts and cousins, Georgia leaves behind her cherished friend Cathy and family, who will miss her dearly. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, kindness, and tireless dedication to her family, friends, and the causes she held dear. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. A public service will be held for family, friends, and the community at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All to meet Friday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Ave., Chicago for a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
