Obituary

Gregory C. Reichle, age 80 of Riverside, IL and Savannah, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He left behind a legacy of pride and accomplishments.

Gregory was a second-generation owner of American Wilbert Vault and a longtime member of The Oak Park Country Club. He was extremely proud to represent Wilbert, not only as one of the largest single licensees, but also as a Wilbert, Inc. Board member for over 25 years. He was always very generous with his time and resources. He adored his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There was never an accomplishment of theirs that went unnoticed by him.

Gregory grew up in Riverside, one of two boys. He graduated from Campion Jesuit High School, a boarding school in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He continued his education and was a very proud graduate of Xavier University, class of '65. He taught high school history for 2 years before being persuaded to work in the family business, where he spent the remainder of his career. He served as president of American Wilbert from 1975 until his retirement in 2009 when his son, David, took over.  Upon David's premature passing in 2019, Amy stepped into the role of president and now oversees the day to day operations of the business along with Gregory's son, James Reichle.

He is survived by his beloved wife Shelley, nee Thomson; loving father of Suzanne Lucot, Michael (Yuka), James, and the late David (Amy) Reichle; proud grandfather of Nicholas and Tara Lucot and Ren, Nathan, Grant, and Nolan Reichle; dear brother of Richard G. (Mary) Reichle.
