Harold Pelzer died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Dr. Pelzer was proudly “old school,” and lived a life of service centered around his family, his patients, and his faith. His distinguished 40 year medical career at Northwestern Memorial Hospital included holding the positions of Chief of Head and Neck Surgery and Chief of Staff. He will be dearly missed by all.

Preceded in death by parents, Harold Sr. and Mary. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Molly, sons Jack (Brianne) and Owen (Kristen) and grandchildren Lucas, Della, Declan, Josephine and Grady, and sister Mary Lynn.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Road, Westchester on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All to meet Friday at St. Luke Church, 7600 Lake, River Forest for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass (Please click on this link to watch livestream).
