Irvin J. Benes of Lampe, MO, formerly of Westchester, IL passed at home on 6/20/23 at age 98. Beloved husband of Marion, nee Marek, married 73 years. Loving father of nine children, Patricia (Glenn) Jable, Theresa, John (Melissa), Joseph (Monica), George (Vicki), Paul (Jennifer), Frank (Marilyn), Laura (Michael) Harris and Steven. Proud grandfather to Jeffrey (Amanda) Jable, Christine Jable, Joseph (Erica), Kathleen, Jennifer, Gregory (Jessica), Jason (Sarah), Andrew, Tiffany (Spencer) Glover, Andrea (Eric) Chavez, Patrick (Niki) Blevins, Sara, Brian, Kevin (deceased), Matthew (Stephanie), Amy (Nicholas) Catalano, Jillian, Kristy (Daniel) Pleet, Kelly (Jeffrey) Bacon, Timothy (Desiree) Alsip, Cory (Katherine) Alsip, Alexandra (Pedro) Lopez, Christopher Van Brakel, Misty (Jacob) Still and 27 great-grandchildren. He is a WWII Veteran and served in the US Navy Armed Guard.  A 70 year member of the Electricians Local Union 134. He enjoyed living in the log home he built, sitting on the front porch watching the birds, animals and fishing.  He enjoyed sharing his daily " the good stuff" (a shot of Ginger Brandy) with family and friends. Cermak Rd., Westchester, IL on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Divine Infant Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass.
