James V. Geary, Jr., age 80, of Riverside. US Army-Vietnam Veteran. Beloved husband of Ange (nee Chott) Geary. Dear brother of Michael (Janet) Geary, John (Kathleen) Geary, Patrick (Debbie) Geary and the late Dennis Geary. "Special uncle" of Karen Koch, Diane Kienzle, Mark Hoffman, Matthew Hoffman and Denise (Erin Leidy) Hoffman. Fond brother-in-law of Edward (Maureen) Chott, Jacqueline (Dr. Thomas) Carey and the late Gwynn (the late Joseph) Hoffman. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim loved to golf, huge Notre Dame Football fan and the Chicago Bears. He was an avid landscaper and loved to garden. Jim was known as a constant (along with Ange) dog walkers with his five beloved dogs around the streets of Riverside. He was a man of few words, but when he talked, people listened! Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday January 15, 2026 from 10am until the time of the funeral Mass at 11am at St. Mary Church (St. Paul VI Parish) 105 Herrick Road, Riverside, IL (the mass will be live streamed - please click on the Watch Video Link below). Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org) Arrangements entrusted to the Original Kuratko Family, Kenneth D.
