Jayne Marie
Krol
Apr 14, 1943 — Dec 24, 2025
Naples, FL formerly of Chicago
Jayne Marie Krol, 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Naples, Florida surrounded by the love of her family as God called her home for Christmas. Beloved wife of the late Fred Krol Sr.; loving mother of Fred Krol Jr.; Cherished daughter of the late Gertrude and William McSweeney; dear sister of Rita (Richard) Hynes and the late Jack (Kathleen) McSweeney; fond niece of Bill (Marilyn) Clancy; fond cousin and aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews whom she adored.
Jayne delighted in gathering family and friends to mark special occasions and summer sunsets in Long Beach, Indiana. The ultimate host, she made everyone feel welcome. She loved to dance at family weddings, make new friends, cook for others, buy and sell real estate, offer small acts of kindness, and celebrate Thanksgiving with her extended McSweeney family. An avid golfer and bridge player, she also loved to play cards. She met her match in husband Fred, and their gambling adventures often culminated in "one big bet" at the blackjack table. A native Chicagoan, Jayne took great pride in showcasing her city and introducing visitors to her hometown during her time as the Deputy Director of the Chicago Office of Tourism. She was a voracious consumer of news, always up to date on current events, especially politics, and voted the right way in every election. We will miss her smile, her can-do-anything spirit and most of all, her love and friendship.
