Jodee Sargeant of Westchester, formerly of Chicago, passed away on October 2, 2023 at age 50. Jodee was the wife of Tom, daughter of Dolores and the late Joseph Fallon;  sister of Suzanne (Joseph) Kusar, Kirsten (Brian) Richter, Joseph Fallon, Jr., and the late Erin Fallon; sister-in-law to Susan Buczkowski. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Franklin and Leo Buczkowski; Margaret, Madeline, Meredith, and Andrew Kusar; and Braiden and Kameron Richter, along with her many friends and former colleagues at the Cook County State's Attorney Office.

Jodee loved life and lived it her way. Whether by car, motorcycle, or plane, Jodee loved to travel the U.S. and abroad. From Arkansas to Amsterdam, Jodee drank it all up. Sightseeing in off-the-beaten-track places, finding quirky non-tourist locales…that was Jodee's forte. Hungry? Jodee will find an interesting place to dine. (Biscuit Bitch in Seattle comes to mind.) Concerts and festivals? From Skinny Puppy to Foo, her infatuation with Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age, Ella Fitzgerald to Depeche Mode, Jodee listened to it and sought out live performances. Jodee loved her family and brought middle-child energy to it. Baking fresh homemade biscuits on Christmas Day in the middle of the family gathering swirling around her -- that was Jodee. A friend and colleague of many in the Cook County State's Attorney Office for over 25  years, Jodee brought light and joy to those suffering from the maladies that non-functioning technology brings, along with light and joy to everything she touched. Jodee listened to people, no matter what they were saying to her. That was her greatest gift. The world lost a beautiful soul. Jodee was a kind, curious, intelligent, creative, adventurous spirit. She brought fun and energy wherever she went. She was so loved and had so much love to give. Our hearts are broken. She has left an empty space that can never be filled.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester for a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Chapel Service. Interment private.
