Kimberly Marie
Mitchell
Mar 21, 1981 — Mar 28, 2026
Chicago
On March 21, 1981, in Chicago, a beautiful light entered the world. That light was Kimberly Marie Mitchell—a woman whose love was deep, whose spirit was vibrant, and whose presence could fill any room with warmth, laughter, and joy.
Born to the late Austin Lee Mitchell and Asilee Mitchell, Kimberly was a true blessing from the very beginning. She was a woman of grace, immeasurable strength, and with a big heart. To know Kimberly was to experience love in action. She was the kind of person who gave of herself freely and selflessly, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own.
Kimberly was a devoted mother, loving daughter, cherished sister, faithful soulmate, and loyal friend. She wore many hats and wore them beautifully. Gifted with extraordinary talent and creativity, Kimberly excelled in all she pursued. Whether it was singing, cosmetology, cooking, event planning, pharmaceuticals or surgical technician—where she ultimately found her calling—she carried excellence, passion, and purpose in everything she did.
But of all the roles Kimberly held, the one she embraced most deeply was that of a giver. Her life was rooted in love, and her heart was anchored in service. She found joy in helping others, in nurturing her family, in showing up for her village she built, and in making sure the people she loved felt seen, supported, and cared for. Her love was not only spoken—it was lived.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Austin Lee Mitchell.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories to be cherished forever by her mother Asilee Mitchell; her loving soulmate Royan Forbes; her beloved son Devon Lancaster Williams and Romaine Forbes; her precious daughter Taylor Lancaster Williams; her loving sisters Cassandra Henderson, La'Teisha Sawyer, and Yahrah Blackman; her brothers-in-law, Freddie Blackman and Dorian Henderson; her treasured nieces Jordyn Henderson and Shauntel Henderson, nephew Dorian Henderson II; and a host of loving relatives, dear friends, and extended family whose lives were made better by simply knowing her.
Though the sun has set on Kimberly's earthly life, her light can never be extinguished. It lives on in the laughter she shared, the love she poured out, the memories she created, and the countless lives she touched so profoundly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
