Lawrence Downey, 76, of LaGrange Park, Illinois, passed away on May 4, 2026. He was born on March 24, 1950 in Gary, Indiana, the son of the late Patrick and the late Delia Downey and was raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Quigley South High School and graduated from Loyola University. A devout Catholic, Lawrence and his wife, Catherine, gave back to the community through their involvement with St. Francis Xavier Food Pantry.

Lawrence built a career as an Operations Manager at Chicago Jack Service Inc. He built long lasting relationships with customers and employees and is remembered as a mentor and friend.

Lawrence will be remembered for his love of family. He was always there to lend a hand or to listen to anyone who needed him. He loved anything sports related and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
He was a beloved husband to the late Catherine, his loving wife of 43 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and family with treasured friends. Lawrence supported Catherine's business endeavors and enjoyed traveling with her in their later years.
Lawrence was a devoted father to Elizabeth and the late Erin. He was a very involved and present father who valued faith and education. He was a proud father and a loving presence in their lives as they became strong women.
He was the second of three brothers and is survived by Kevin (Anne) and James (Diane). He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews and cherished his bond with his many cousins.

Cermak Rd., Westchester for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 pm All to meet at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Rd.
