Marie was second to the youngest of eight children born to Giuseppe and Filomena Pantone, who emigrated to America from Pomarico, Italy. Growing up during the Depression with five brothers and two sisters in a small house - she was an avid Cubs fan in a White Sox household! - Marie became a tough, independent and witty women. She took care of her parents and her siblings as they aged and needed help, and she had a fulfilling position at Northern Trust Bank for several years. In later years, she lived with her eldest sister Angela and they were inseparable friends. They drove everywhere together and were always the life of the party—and not afraid to share their opinions!

Marie spent her final years at Pearl Healthcare in Downers Grove, where she participated in many activities like bingo. She assisted those in the rehab center so they could also participate, often smuggling contraband snacks to her friends. She loved her pickles, olives and pasta, and she happily shared her desserts with other residents and staff members.

Marie was a beloved aunt, sister, and friend. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. We are especially grateful to the team at Pearl Healthcare for their compassionate care these last few years when Marie's health started to decline. Special thanks as well to the team at Care2You Hospice for their help and guidance these last several months.
