Obituary

Marion Sierocuk, age 89, was born in Thorp, Wl to Frank and Victoria (Obrycki) Sierocuk. Marion met Patricia (nee Bull) who was from Stanley, WI. And they married on May 25, 1957. Pat and Marion lived in Hinsdale, IL for many years which is where they raised their two sons. In 1972 they purchased a cozy lake cottage in Pardeeville, Wi, a central location between the Chicago area and his hometown of Thorp. This made it possible for family and friends to easily visit on weekends and holidays for fun times at the lake.

After early retirement, Pat and Marion decided to try "the snowbird" life in Florida. They fell in love with it and in 1996 they purchased a home in Alemeda Isles in Englewood, FL. While away from family in Florida, they worked hard on staying in touch and traveling back up north for special events. Years later when needing assistance, together they lived at The Gardens of Venice in Venice, FL.

After Pat passed on March 22, 2026, Marion moved back to Illinois to be closer to family. This wasn't easy for him after 30 years of friendships, but he knew that it was the right thing to do. Together we all found a beautiful home for him at The Landings in Batavia, IL, where he made many new friends during his one year stay. Marion was happy there. After health complications, he lived at Hearthwood Senior Living in Bartlett, IL.

Marion graduated from Thorp High School. He moved to the Chicago area and temporarily lived with his sister Verne. While there, he attended Trade School for carpentry. Illinois is where he planted his feet and started his career as a residential/ commercial garage door technician. Marion was a member of the Chicago Carpenters Local 54. He started out building garages with his uncle, then proceeded to garage doors. He was employed by Overhead Door, Buckeridge Door, and House of Doors. Marion was very skilled at construction. He and family members remodeled their cozy lake cottage into a beautiful two story, five bedroom lake house.

Marion enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, farming, fishing, deer hunting, snowmobiling, golfing, water skiing, euchre, solitaire on his phone, and he loved doing puzzles. He cheered on the Cubs, Packers, Bears, and Buccaneers.

Marion and Pat enjoyed the camaraderie with friends at breakfast after church on Sundays. He cherished gatherings with family and friends. Marion was a member of St. John of the Cross in Western Springs, I., St. Mary's in Portage, Wl, and St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood, FL, where he was a loyal usher. Marion was a long-time member of The Knights of Columbus, Council 11553, Englewood, FL. In 2006-07 he was honored with the position of Grand Knight.

Marion, beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Bull), loving father of Jeffrey (Jill Binkley) Sierocuk of Palatine, IL. and Richard (Linda) Sierocuk of West Chicago, IL. Proud grandpa of Adam (Cynthia), Kevin (Tanya), and Michael. Best great-grandpa of Lucas, Elijah, Leah, Ethan, and Liam. Dear brother of Harriet (late Ray) Kollack and brother-in-law to William (Judie) Bull III. Along with many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Marion is the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his brothers Henry (Ruth), Tony (Pat), his sister's Verne (Ray) Ruegger, Lucille (Steve) Wojtowicz, Lillian (Deacon) Hedler, and Celia (Bob) Wiseman. Marion is loved by many and will be missed by all.
