Mary
Marshall
Aug 8, 1964 — Jan 15, 2026
Westchester
On the morning of Thursday, January 15, 2026, Mary made her transition from this life to her eternal life to join her mom, dad, brother (Ted), and other family members. God blessed Mary to live here on earth for 61 years, and she fought a good fight. Now she Wins.
Mary was born on Tuesday, August 18, 1964, in Cook County Hospital in Chicago to the late Fredric and Cleo Marshall.
Mary was the second oldest of five children. You would never know she was the oldest girl because of her quiet, yet very observant personality. If you asked her how something happened, she could give you all the details. She was so much like her mom, loved to help people and had the heart of a servant. She did volunteer work at a food pantry and was excited to be there to serve.
Mary grew up attending church, and in a recent conversation with one of her sisters it became clear that not only was Mary saved and had her name recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life, but she also understood the power of prayer, believing and fighting through the trials of life. She knew that God heard her when she prayed and that God loved her.
She spent most of her life attending Sunshine M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Derrick Jones with her family and later became a member of House of Prayer under the leadership of Pastor Robert Marshall. Mary served on the Usher board and was willing to help whenever asked. Whether she was working in the kitchen, distributing plates, or offering bottles of water, she consistently demonstrated a heart dedicated to serve.
Mary had children at a young age and from there she jumped right into motherhood. She loved her children and grandchildren; when you saw her, you saw her children. From an early age, Mary demonstrated a nurturing disposition. Pictures from her childhood frequently illustrate her holding a baby, a teddy bear, or another object close to her heart, reflecting her caring nature. Mary was kind, quiet and a peacemaker.
Mary was close to her children. She would light up talking about them, and she would be so excited telling others about both her kids and grandkids.
Mary enjoyed some of the simple things in life. You could find her sitting with her children, grandchildren, niece, nephew and especially her younger sister just laughing and having fun. She enjoyed listening to music, cooking, and hanging with family, never in front of the crowd but sitting back and taking it all in.
Mary leaves to cherish her love and memory: her four children ; Tony ( Patrice) Antawn(Trinita), Nicholas and Sheneka; her fifteen grandchildren: Destinee, Tresor, Tony Jr., Joel, Jocelyn, Trinity, Jade, Jordyn, Jarrell, Yasmine, Camille, Elijah, Quincy, Samuel and Jalen; her two great-grandchildren: Juliet and Monique: one brother; Tommie: two sisters; Frances and Gloria: seven bonus brother and sisters; Fred ( Mildred), Sylvester, Lonnie ( Kay), Calvin ( Berniece), Michelle, Leo, and Renee ( Grant): a favorite nephew and niece ; Antiono and Antionette; two great nephews: Terrell and Terrance: three great nieces; Brooklyn, Katelynn and Tiffany: two aunts; Angela Barnes and Valarie Mincey, church families Sunshine M.B. Church and House of Prayer, cousins and friends that loved her.
