Matthew A. Jech of Berwyn age 64 passed quietly from this life on December 2nd, 2024. He is survived by Deborah Jech (nee Fajnor) mother of Tanya and Trevor. He is proceeded in death by Michelle Smith, mother to Jeremy. Loving father of Jeremy (Stacey) Jech, Tanya (Georgio) Sourbis and Trevor Jech. Proud grandfather of Andriano, Magdalini and Georgio. Dear brother of Greg (Ellen) and Fawn Jech. Fond uncle of Alexander and Megan Jech. An avid fisherman and hunter, Matt spent much of his youth in the woods or casting a line. His strong work ethic was evident in the many years of dedicated service he gave to the companies he worked for. Matt was also a devoted Chicago sports fan, even when they didn't deserve it-which was often. Though he often portrayed himself as the strong, silent type, his goofy nature and big heart would shine through with his well-timed, hilariously dry one-liners. He was happiest with his rescue dogs and being "Papa" to his grandkids. He felt deeply, both the good and the bad, and loved quietly but fiercely—always in his own way.
