Max Leigh Pope of Willowbrook formerly of Pekin, IL, age 73. Beloved husband of Paula (Coggins); loving father of Andrea (Mario) Pelini and Heidi (Matt) Heaton; proud grandfather of Emma & Sara Pelini and Aiden Heaton; dear brother of Beverly (late Gene) Daniels, Carol (Jim) England and Sue (Dean) Boaz; cherished brother-in-law of Jerry (Angela) Coggins, Lori (Garry) Lockwood and the late Tim Coggins; fond uncle of many. Max was born on October 14, 1950 in Vandalia, IL to Francis Max and June Leigh Pope and was raised in the small nearby town of Ramsey. Max was a Christian, a deacon in his church and was active in church for most of his life. He relocated to central Illinois and married Paula on July 1, 1972. He was employed for 35 years as a route salesman for Prairie Farms Dairy. As a younger man he enjoyed golfing and he was a lifelong Cardinals Fan. Max's most happy times were spent with family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Curt Byars. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester from 2:00 p.m. until time of Service 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) appreciated. For funeral info 708-F-U-N-E-R-A-L.
