Mollie Kay Landfear, 1943-2024. Mollie was born in Rockford, IL to Henry and Veronica Ehle.  She graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge and attended Monmouth College where she met her husband of 60 years, Doug.  Together they had five children.  Mollie returned to college at Northern Illinois University where she earned her teaching degree.  She spent the span of her career teaching at Larkin High School in Elgin, where her love of educating and caring for her students and fellow teachers was unequivocal.  In her retirement Mollie opened a yarn store where she continued teaching.  She enjoyed traveling with her middle daughter to the warm sands of Isla Mujeres and spending time with her family. She's survived by her husband, Doug Landfear, children Frances Landfear, Marion Landfear, Deborah Landfear, Michael Landfear (Jorie) and Katherine Landfear, grandchildren Cody May, Jesse May, Parker Landfear, and Maizie Landfear. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Rockford, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to PAWS Chicago (www.pawschicago.org).
