Patricia B. Brocken, nee Clinton, of Oak Park, age 83. Beloved wife of the late Robert; loving mother of Bridget (Chuck) Smith and Robert Brocken; proud grandmother of Alexander, Caroline, Penelope and Genevieve; dear sister of Jane (late Bill) Freres, preceded in death by Carolyn (late John) Brown, James (late Mary Lou) Clinton and Anthony (Kathleen) Clinton; cherished sister-in-law of Dorothy (late Edward) Kwak; fond aunt of many.  Pat was born in Sterling, Illinois and spent her childhood in rural western Illinois.  She graduated from Dixon high school, and then attended Northern Illinois University where she majored in home economics. She later received her master's degree in counseling from NIU.  She started her career as a home economics teacher, and later worked as a guidance counselor at Notre Dame High School for Girls. She finished her career as a probation counselor in Cook County. Pat married Bob Brocken in 1968, and they were happily married for many years. She loved animals, traveling, and helping people.  Pat was a longtime friend and mentor in the AA community.  She was an enthusiastic volunteer throughout her life including starting a church preschool, fundraising for the PTO, and cooking and serving meals for homeless individuals. Pat had an excellent sense of humor and brought fun to every occasion. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All to meet Saturday at St. Catherine–St. Lucy Church, 38 N. Austin Blvd., Oak Park for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.
