Patricia "Patty" Lakner (nee Lowell) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Born April 15, 1946, in Chicago to Alice and William Lowell and married to the love of her life, Steve, for 54 years. Loving mother of Julie Lakner, Jody (Roger) Cornett and Jill (Josh) McGarry. Proud grandmother to Tommy, Eddie, Lucy, Billy, Finnegan, and Isla.

Everyone remembers Patty for her grace, charm, and strength; she was a devoted friend who made everyone feel warm and comfortable in her illuminating presence. Within minutes, a stranger became Patty's friend after she asked where they grew up and how they enjoyed spending their time. Folks willingly shared their life stories with her because she was such an inviting, beautiful, and genuine lady.

The consummate hostess, Patty loved serving and entertaining her family and friends. Whether in her home, on the golf course, on the dancefloor, or in an Irish pub, Patty charmed everyone with her style and personality. In addition to her curiosity about people and places, she possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of musical hits (favoring 1962). She knew the song, the band, the year of release, where she was and whom she was with the first time she heard that snappy tune. She would also teach you the dance steps to every song.

Patty cultivated a beautiful life filled with memorable experiences for everyone who encountered her - especially her daughters, and grandkids, whom she loved with her whole heart.

A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 26 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville. Visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.; mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. To celebrate Patty please wear pink!
