Paul
Centorcelli
Aug 4, 2001 — Jun 22, 2026
North Riverside
Paul Centorcelli of North Riverside, age 24. Beloved son of Louis Centorcelli and Mary Stimming; dear brother of Michael, Kathryn, and Elizabeth. Cherished nephew of Maureen, Chris (Erin), and Joe. Loved cousin of Hopson, Eason, and Wells. Adored grandson of Maggie and the late Charles Stimming and the late Susan and Ed Mendez. A treasured member of the extended Shields Family.
Paul was a gentle boy with an affinity for other vulnerable souls. He insisted that insects found in our home be captured and released, ensured the participation of the shy children assigned to his group as a camp counselor, and carved a shamrock for good luck, giving it with a note of encouragement to a loved one looking for work. Paul registered as an organ and tissue donor. Even in death, he has given so much to so many.
As a child, Paul was never far from his toy dinosaurs. A paleontologist at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis mentioned a "duck-billed dinosaur" and at three years old, Paul enthusiastically replied, "Parasaurolophus is my favorite!" Stunned that a toddler knew the proper name, the researcher gifted him a fossil.
In his teens and young adulthood, he was a natural at parkour, taught gymnastics at a local sports club, enjoyed doing magic tricks, loved everything about music, especially the guitar. Whether the forests of Wisconsin, the beach in North Carolina, the mountains of California, or at nearby park, Paul was most at home in nature.
Despite a few color misadventures, his "McDreamy" hair was a lifelong crowning glory. How he remained less than a pound per inch while regularly devouring Twizzlers, Takis, and Starbucks Mocha Frappuccinos is a mystery.
Paul travelled light but was ultimately beset by heavy thoughts. Still, he found the strength to be at every family gathering, vacation, and meal; knowing the importance of his presence to others. His strength, compassion, and thoughtfulness will sustain his loved ones despite his absence.
