Peter Allen Cantwell was born in Oak Park, Ill. Feb 9,1950 to Frank Cantwell and Clotilda Allen Cantwell. He passed from this life April 21, 2026. Peter was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara. Survived by his brother Frank and sister Clotilda (Chuck) Cantwell-Taylor, sister-in-law Diana (Michael) Prime, his Aunt Evelyn Allen and many loved cousins and dear friends. He is an alumnus of River Forest primary schools, Culver Military Academy, Washington University where he was an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, graduating with honors and going on to Washington University Law school where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. He had a distinguished law practice, and a firm he was enormously proud of; Cantwell and Cantwell, first established by his grandfather in 1896. He was a loyal fan of and had treasured season tickets to the Black Hawks games. Peter was known for his wonderful sense of humor, pulling practical jokes on family and friends. He dedicated his life to serving others with skill and compassion. His family will always remember Peter for his wit, wisdom and zest for life. Services will be held privately.
