Raymond E.
Voros
May 24, 1933 — Jul 18, 2026
Westchester
Raymond E. Voros, age 93, longtime resident of Westchester. US Army Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Curylo) Voros. Loving father of Mary Lynn (Jim) Muha and Bob (Raylene) Voros. Proud grandfather of Tom, Klaudia, Katarina, Alex, Tyler and Joshua.
Ray was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He was the only child of Kolomon and Mary Voros. Ray attended St. Rita Elementary School and Lindblom High School. While at Lindblom, he served as editor of the school newspaper and planned to pursue a career in journalism. He attended Loyola University and, in a twist of fate, became an accountant instead of a journalist. He continued his education at Northwestern University, where he earned his master's degree from the Kellogg School of Business. Ray went on to enjoy a distinguished career in the Treasury Department at McDonald's Corporation, where he worked for more than twenty-five years.
Ray met his wife Dorothy thru the Catholic Alumni Club, and they went on to have two amazing children. Ray loved to travel and gave his family the gift of seeing the world. He planned vacations filled with so many sights and experiences that his wife, Dorothy, aptly called them "Ray Tours." She often said he had missed his true calling as a travel agent. Ray was an exceptionally well-rounded individual. He was a member of Toastmaster, a devoted movie buff who also enjoyed theater, opera, classical music and all Chicago sports. Ray was also an avid reader, and a lifelong learner. Even at the young age of 93, he was fascinated by artificial intelligence and eagerly soaked up all the knowledge he could.
However, what Ray loved the most in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will truly be missed.
