Russell A. Dixon, Jr., DDS, age 93, of Westchester, formerly of Oak Park, passed away November 19, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Mary Alice (nee Nykiel) Dixon; loving father of Kelley Dixon and Erica, DNP (Jennifer) Dixon-Johnson; proud Grussy of Cooper and Russell; dear brother of the late Don (Linda) Dixon; uncle of many; fond brother-in-law to the Nykiel family and lovingly cared for by Darpel, Ladylyn and Bhelle Caybot. Dr. Dixon received his undergraduate degree at Colby College, where he was a proud brother of Tau Delta Phi. He went on to receive his DDS from Howard University, and then his Masters of Science in Oral Surgery from Northwestern University. Dr. Dixon was a proud Air Force veteran who had a distinguished career as the chief of oral surgery at the Jessie Brown VA Hospital for 50 years. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester (2 blks West of Mannheim Rd.) on Monday November 24th, 2024 from 3-8 PM. Funeral prayers Tuesday 9:00 AM at the funeral home, going to St. Giles Catholic Church, Oak Park, for 10 AM Funeral Mass (the mass will be livestreamed - please see the Watch Video link below).
