Sherill Grace Coomes, nee Carlson, formerly of Richton Park, passed peacefully on March 12, 2023 at age 84.

Beloved wife of the late Edilo "Taylor" Paolini, the late Robert Smith and the late Robert "Bill" Coomes; loving mother of Mark Paolini, Diane (Ken) Sheehan, Timothy (Jennifer) Paolini, David (Jennifer) Paolini and Wendi (Phil) Boyer; step-mother of Rosemary (Peter) Primavera and Diana Coomes; proud grandmother of nine; great-grandmother of two; dear sister of Keith (late Dorothy) Carlson; fond aunt of several; cherished daughter of the late Wilbert & Grace Carlson.

Sherill was a resident of Richton Park for nearly 50 years, building a home with Taylor and their five children. She was an avid gardener and received Blue Ribbon Awards from the Richton Park Beautification Committee numerous times. For over 25 years Sherill worked in various capacities for Rich Township Senior Center including positions as a Senior Service Coordinator and Flexercise Instructor. Music was a big part of Sherill's life and included singing in the church choirs, playing the organ and square dancing. Sherill didn't have one favorite scripture, but did her best to live by them all in that she was willing to assist those in need. She was known as a "Prayer Warrior" in her church; she and her late husband Bill could always be found at the church entrance hugging all in the congregation as they entered.

Thank you to the staff of St. Croix Hospice and Elara Caring Hospice for all the care and compassion everyone had for Sherill and the family during the last number of months.
