Theodoros K. Sparagis of Dyrrachio, Arcadia, Greece, age 83. Beloved
husband of the late Georgia Sparagis, nee Karlos; loving father
Konstantinos (Constance), Stavroula, and Nicholas (Antonia) Sparagis; son
of the late Konstantinos and Stavroula Sparagis; proud grandfather of
George, Teddy, Teddy, Niko and Georgia Grace; dear brother of Themis
(Eleni) Sparagis and Vasiliki (Elias), the late George (Eleni) Sparagis, as
well as his beloved late siblings in Greece: Hlias (Polyxeni), Anna(Dinos
Stasinos). Christina(Tsixritzis), and Pantelis. In 1965, Theodoros won the
national gold medal in his weight class of 78 kilos in Athens. His strength
and determination inspired his quest for the American Dream. Theodoros
first arrived in the U.S. in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1966. Several years
later Theodoros met and married Georgia in Chicago in 1970. He started
as a waiter in Greektown and became an entrepreneur who owned
businesses in Chicago's Greektown, as well as the Lone Star Restaurant in
Channahon, IL. Our father loved his family and friends and was blessed
with children, grandchildren, several God sons, and many nieces and
nephews, relatives and friends across the world. He was genuinely a kind,
friendly, and generous man to everyone he met. Please join us in prayer
and to celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved father at the Conboy-
Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on
Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. proceeding to Holy
Apostles Greek Orthodox Church for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service.
Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Greek-
