Thomas C.
Simek
Dec 29, 1947 — Jul 3, 2024
Westchester
Tom Simek passed away on July 3, 2024 in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his sons, Tom and Scott. Devoted husband for 52 wonderful years to the love of his life, the late Carolyn Simek (nee Pekala). Loving father of Tom (Tracy) and Scott (Laura). Adoring, proud and supportive grandfather to Tom, Elle, Jackson and Harper. Dearest son of the late Charlie and Stella and brother of John (and the late Sue) Simek. Brother-in-law of Sandra (and the late Al) Wilczak. Uncle of Chuck, (the late Kathy), and AJ Simek. Cherished cousin to many; Jim & Bev Simek, Florence (the late Chester), John (MJ) Goluch, Laura (Fred) Ritchie, and Raymond, Lodie (Jim), Ben (Natalie), Ed (Diane) Stozek.
Once you met Tom you remembered him forever - he was one of a kind! Together Tom & Carolyn were the glue of "The Group." And enjoyed many nights out, traveling, and celebrations with Bonnie and Al, John and Carol, Bernie and Roberta, Rich and Sandy, Kath, and Gene and Anne. As of late he enjoyed bowling with his cousins and "B.S. and Beers" with Dave and the guys.
Tom, along with Carolyn before her passing, loved vacationing, hosting the vigilia on Christmas Eve and baseball! But his absolute greatest passion was being a Grandfather. Known to many as "Grandpa Tom' this guy was definitely the MVP of the grandpa-game. He lived for Tom, Elle, Jackson and Harper and has left a long, lasting impression of what tradition and family is. His memory will live on forever as we continue to cherish and laugh about the countless good times Grandpa Tom provided to many.
In lieu of flowers, donations to https://www.mds-foundation.org/ would be greatly appreciated. Private arrangements to celebrate Tom's life will be made at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home. (708) F-U-N-E-R-A-L.
