Vivien G. Kouros, of Wheaton, passed away at home on November 14, 2023, lovingly surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Anthony Kouros, she is survived by three children, Tony Kouros of Batavia, IL., Peter (Andrea) Kouros of Freeport, ME., and Chris Kouros of Glen Ellyn, IL; her sisters, Eleni (Aleco) Lykidis and Katy Balabinis both of whom took great and extraordinary care of her in her final years; four grandchildren - Alexander, Christina, Anastasia, and George; two great-grandchildren; beloved nieces Georgia and Demetra, and countless friends. Born on April 9, 1934, in Tripolis, Greece, to Petro and Dimitra Balabinis, she graduated High School in 1952 and worked as a bookkeeper for the government of Greece. After marrying George in 1958, they moved to Chicago,IL., and later Wheaton, IL, where she focused on being a homemaker; she was an incredible mother who was always seeking educational opportunities in various lessons or travel for her children. As the children grew older, she worked as a designer, stylist, and consultant at Katy's Boutique alongside Katy and George where she helped women dress to be their best selves with confidence; she always dressed exquisitely and was an inspiration. She will be greatly missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know her. All to meet at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, 733 S. Ashland, Chicago, IL 60607 on Saturday, November 18, 2023 for a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
