Angeline
Wrobel
Jul 17, 1935 — Feb 5, 2022
Riverside
Angeline Wrobel, nee LaRusso, of Riverside, age 86. Born during the Great Depression to Italian immigrant parents, Angeline "Angie" grew up on the north side of Chicago with her parents Vivian and Anthony LaRusso and three brothers, Marty, Joe, and Jim. Angie met lifelong friends growing up in the Lincoln Park area, and met her husband, Donald J. Wrobel after graduating from St. Michael's High School and while working at Montgomery Wards. Angie married Don, an avid Sox fan to her Cubs, and went on to have four children (all divided baseball fans). She worked at JC Penney for 21 years to help provide her children with opportunities she didn't have growing up. They moved to Riverside in 1963 and resided there for over 50 years.
Sadly, Angie lived with dementia the last few years of her life. Her spirit and self were lost long before her physical body passed. Angie is preceded in death by her husband Don (2012), her brothers Marty 2014 (Marie) LaRusso, Joe 2012 (Fran) LaRusso, and her oldest son David 2016 (Maria) Wrobel. She leaves behind three children Donna Wrobel, John (Amber) Wrobel, and Angela (Tim) Sullivan, along with six beloved grandchildren (Jonathan, Christopher, Elanie, DJ, TJ, and Chloe).
Her family is grateful for the staff at Artis Senior Living in Elmhurst, who took care of her for more than a year after her Alzheimer's diagnosis.
Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Chapel Service 12:00 noon.
